During an advanced course, you will learn the most modern progression techniques suitable for tackling challenging routes with difficulties higher than V3 A3 II. By way of example only, here are some of the topics we will address:

1. Reading of the single obstacle and sequential (complex) obstacles

2. The different releasable, suspended and suspended systems, how, when and why

3. Focus on the different types of handrails, how and when to use them

4. Diverter systems and avoidance of potential dangers: Retrievable diverters (on natural and artificial anchorages), with recovery rope or attached rope, cableways (with one rope or two ropes), floating anchor

5. progression on large verticals, relays and splits

6. Released from below, the different techniques, how and when to use them

7. Verification of acquired skills

The advanced course is built on 6 days of lessons in an environment, crag or canyon.

Attendance at this type of course provides knowledge on the techniques and behaviors to adopt to mitigate the intrinsic risk of the activity. Another thing is the experience necessary to travel canyons with high difficulties. For this reason we suggest that students apply the notions learned in courses with difficulties close to V3 A3 II for the time necessary to acquire complete mastery of the topics covered in the course. Experience and comparison with other canyoners are the key to experiencing the canyon environment and canyoning in the greatest possible safety.
