HOW DOES IT WORK?

Canyoning Rio Buggio: An Adventure Within Everyone’s Reach

If you are looking for an experience that combines the wild beauty of the Ligurian Alps with an accessible and fun route, Rio Buggio is the perfect choice. Located in the picturesque village of Pigna, this canyon is a true jewel of light and rock, ideal for those who want to try canyoning for the first time or for anyone seeking a day of pure relaxation and fun in nature.

The Approach: A Balcony Over the Valley

The day begins with a pleasant panoramic walk of about 30 minutes. After a gentle initial climb of 10 minutes, the trail continues on flat ground, offering breathtaking views over the surrounding valley. It is the perfect moment to breathe in the mountain air and get ready to enter the water.

The Descent: Magic and Fun

Once you put on your wetsuit and helmet, the magic begins. You will enter an extraordinary environment where the water has carved enchanting passages and crystal-clear pools over time.

Rio Buggio stands out for its extraordinary scenic beauty and its technical simplicity:

  • Jumps and Water Fun: Several deep pools allow you to experience the thrill of jumping in complete safety.
  • Rappels with Rope: You will descend spectacular vertical walls by rope under the constant supervision of our guides. A perfect way to push your limits while having fun.

The Return

At the end of the descent, a short uphill walk will take us directly back to the cars, allowing us to end the experience in total comfort and enjoy a well-deserved rest in the village of Pigna.

For general information about the activity, download the briefing and the activity sheet.

No knowledge of rope descent techniques is required.

🛡️ Safety and Training: Our Commitment

Your safety comes first. Before every descent, our guides will hold a mandatory safety briefing during which you will be informed about:

  • Environmental awareness: the objective and subjective risks related to canyoning and the mountain environment.
  • Safety protocols: the essential behaviours to follow for your own protection and that of the group.
  • Progression techniques: the correct ways to handle jumps, rope descents, and walking sections (for more details, you can download the technical documents “Briefing” and “Activity Sheet” directly from this website).
  • Eco-responsibility: how to move through the canyon with the utmost respect for the local ecosystem and the flora and fauna that host us.

👨‍🏫 Professionals by your side

You will always be accompanied by professional canyoning guides, certified with a diploma from the Italian Canyoning Guides Association (AIGC) or equivalent qualifications. They are local experts who know how to turn a technical challenge into an experience of pure fun in complete safety.

🧒 Families and minors: who can take part?

  • Recommended age: from 8 years old.
  • Supervision: minors must be accompanied by a parent or an authorised adult. If minors are entrusted to third parties, written authorisation from the parents is required.
  • Special Family: when water levels are optimal and depending on the children’s physical and psychological characteristics, the experience may also be open to younger children. Contact us to assess together whether it is feasible.
